Involved in gymnastics since 1978, Deana was a 2-time national collegiate champion and 4-time All-American athlete.  Deana was a USA National Team Coach from 1989-2002 representing the coutry in over 18 nations, 2 World Championships, 1 Olympic Tirials and 4 American Cup compeitions.  Deana was chosen to be the head coach for the Puerto Rican federation, where she qualified their 1st Olympian to the 1996 Olympic Games.  In addition to her elite and international experiences, Deana has also excelled at the JO level and has coached 7 Level 10 State Championship teams. Deana has been part of the leading clubs in the Houston area where she has served as their program director.  Currently Deana is program director for the women's program at IGA and co-head coach of the girl's JO optional team. Deana was nominated "Texas Coach of the Year" in 2004.  Deana is a member of the Texas USAG Board serving as the South coaches educator.
